About Ethical Society Mid Rivers
The Ethical Society Mid Rivers is a Humanist congregation in Saint Charles County, Missouri. We meet most Sundays to explore ethics and Humanism; is a progressive philosophy of life that, without theism or supernatural beliefs, affirms our ability and responsibility to lead ethical lives of personal fulfillment that aspire to the greater good of humanity.
MISSION STATEMENT:
At the Ethical Society Mid Rivers, we recognize and celebrate the unique worth and dignity of all people regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, economic status, level of ability, or religious beliefs. We are one of several American Ethical Union (AEU) congregations, meeting on Sundays, all over the nation, to explore ethics, tolerance, compassion and social action. WE BELIEVE IN: Deed before creed: We are not bound by any community creed or dogma. Instead, we believe in the importance of developing a clear personal philosophy that makes life meaningful. Our faith is in the human capacity to work together to bring out the best in ourselves, enhancing everyone’s unique capacity and responsibility to contribute to a more humane world. We support social action as an expression of our core commitment to honor the worth of all people and build justice. Raising kind compassionate kids: In our Sunday Ethical Education for Kids (SEEK) classes, we encourage an appreciation of diversity, a sense of social responsibility, and ethical values. Through creative play, social justice projects, stories, discussions, artistic activities, and multi-generational festivals, our kids explore the world and their power to be a force for good. |
